How to fix “lost lane”?

  1. 1Practise last-hitting in demo mode: 50 creeps in 5 minutes without items is a good target.
  2. 2Keep the wave near your tower (denies, pulls) if the opponent wins trades.
  3. 3If the lane is hard, ask for a rotation or switch to the jungle for a while, but do not give away all the experience.

How the coach counts it

What is “lost lane” in Dota 2?

You finished the laning stage with noticeably fewer last hits than your direct opponent, often with extra deaths and no level advantage.

How does the coach find this mistake?

The coach compares your last hits, gold, experience and deaths at the end of laning with your opponent in the same lane. The gap threshold is checked against how lanes go for Immortal players.

Why does “lost lane” cost games?

A lost lane is a deficit that lasts all game: your opponent gets key items earlier and enters the map stronger than you.
