Personal Data Processing Policy

Edition of

Highground (the highground.cc website) analyzes Dota 2 matches and gives advice on play. This page describes what data we receive, why, who we pass it to and how to delete it.

1. Who the operator is

The personal data operator is ООО «Хайграунд Девелопмент», INN 7700000000, OGRN 1237700000000, correspondence address: 123456, г. Москва, ул. Примерная, д. 1, офис 1, email support@highground.cc ("we").

The Policy is drawn up under Federal Law No. 152-FZ of 27.07.2006 "On Personal Data". It applies to all data we receive through the highground.cc website, its subdomains, the Highground Live overlay and our Telegram bots.

If you do not agree with the Policy, do not sign in to the website through Steam and do not accept analytics cookies.

The website events linked to your account also record how you read a review: whether you opened the report and its cards, how far you scrolled, how long you stayed on the page, and whether you rated it. The text of your comments does not go into these events: it is stored only in your account and is deleted with it. Your browser identifier is added to these events only if you have accepted analytics cookies; without consent the events are still recorded, but without it.

We do not receive your Steam password, bank card number or passport data. We do not process special categories or biometric personal data. You enter your card details on the payment service's page; they do not reach us.

The service is intended for persons over 14 years of age. Purchases in the service may be made by a person over 18 or by a minor with the consent of their parents.

3. On what basis

  1. Performance of a contract (the public offer) to which you are a party: clause 5, part 1, Article 6 of 152-FZ. This is how we process data for signing in, reviews, coach chat, payment, gifts and referral bonuses.
  2. Your consent: clause 1, part 1, Article 6 of 152-FZ. Analytics cookies and Yandex.Metrica, Telegram notifications, showing under your nickname in the top players and transfer of data abroad (section 6) rely on it.
  3. Compliance with the law: clause 2, part 1, Article 6 of 152-FZ. Cash receipts, tax and accounting records.

4. Cookies

Without your consent, the website sets only necessary cookies. Analytics cookies appear only if you click "Accept" in the banner.

  • You create the player card and the link to a review yourself, with a button. The link contains a random token, not your Steam ID. Whoever has received the link sees its contents. The "Disable" button closes access immediately.
  • In the top players your nickname is hidden by default. It will appear only if you turn this on in your profile.
  • Dota 2 matches and their participants' nicknames are already public in Steam and OpenDota, unless the player has hidden them in the game settings. A review of your match may mention heroes and actions of other players.

6. Who we pass data to

We do not sell data and do not pass it to advertising networks. We pass it only to those without whom the service does not work.

We will also pass data to government authorities if the law requires it.

Transfer to other countries is cross-border transfer (Article 12 of 152-FZ). We make it with your consent and after notifying Roskomnadzor.

7. Where and how long we store it

Data is stored on the servers of the hosting provider Interhive OÜ.

Valve stores match replays for about 90 days, so we cannot review older matches.

When the purpose has been achieved or you have deleted your account, we delete the data within 30 days. The exception is data that the law requires to be kept longer. Anonymized statistics on heroes and ranks may remain.

8. How we protect data

  • Connections to the website use HTTPS.
  • Sign-in is only through Steam; we do not store passwords. Session tokens are stored only as a hash.
  • Only the operator has access to the server and the admin panel. Administrator actions are written to a log.
  • Steam ID does not get into error reports.

9. Your rights

You may:

  • find out what data of yours we hold and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • withdraw consent, including for cookies and Telegram notifications;
  • complain to Roskomnadzor or to a court.

Send the request to support@highground.cc and state your Steam ID. We respond within 10 business days (Article 14 of 152-FZ). To make sure the account owner is writing, we may ask you to sign in to the website through Steam or to write to support in Telegram (@highgroundsupportbot).

10. Changes and contacts

A new edition of the Policy takes effect from the moment it is published on this page. We will warn of significant changes on the website in advance.

For questions about data: support@highground.cc, Telegram @highgroundsupportbot.
