No TP to defend. When to teleport to defend a tower in Dota 2

A missed defense means two or more enemies stood at a building in the 25 seconds before it fell, you were far away and not fighting, your TP was ready, and you did not use it.

How to fix “no tp to defend”?

  1. 1Always carry a TP scroll and keep it on a comfortable key.
  2. 2Watch the minimap: enemies at a tower are a reason to teleport before it falls, not after.
  3. 3Teleport together with an ally: one defender against three just dies.

How the coach counts it

What is “no tp to defend” in Dota 2?

Two or more enemies pushed your tower or barracks, you were far away and not fighting, your teleport scroll was ready, but the building fell without you.

How does the coach find this mistake?

The coach looks at the 25 seconds before the building falls: how many enemies are near it, where you are and whether your TP is ready. Far, free, scroll ready and no teleport means a missed defence.

Why does “no tp to defend” cost games?

Towers give the enemy gold and open the map for them. One timely TP often saves the building or at least costs the enemy time.
