How to fix “greedy death while farming”?
- 1Decide when you leave before you start last-hitting: “two are missing, so I take this wave and walk to the tower”.
- 2The last creep is not worth a death. When two enemies have been unseen for over 10 seconds, drop the wave mid-clear.
- 3Keep TP off cooldown while you farm far from your team, so you can leave the moment someone shows up.
- 4Count how long the enemies have been unseen: gone for 15 seconds means they are already near you.

How the coach counts it
What is “greedy death while farming” in Dota 2?
This is a mistake of one decision at one moment. You saw the enemies go missing, but the wave or camp was almost cleared, so you stayed to finish it. Those enemies are the ones who killed you while you stood by the creeps.
How does the coach find this mistake?
The coach counts your last hits before the death and the enemies out of sight at that moment. Several last hits with two missing is greed; the threshold is checked against how Immortal players take risks.
Why does “greedy death while farming” cost games?
The death costs more than the wave was worth: the enemy gets gold for you, you lose gold and time on respawn, and your lane opponent takes the next waves.
How it differs from similar mistakes
- Farming without vision
A greedy death happens in one second: two enemies went missing and you kept last-hitting the wave or camp. Farming without vision is about where you farm: again and again you pick spots enemies can reach unseen, and the coach flags it even when you survive.
