How to fix “courier lost with items”?

  1. 1Send the courier while you stand at your tower or in your jungle, not on the enemy half.
  2. 2Check the courier's path: if it crosses the river where enemies were just seen, wait.
  3. 3Send expensive items in two trips: first the component you need right now.
  4. 4Use the courier's speed burst when it passes a dangerous stretch.

How the coach counts it

What is “courier lost with items” in Dota 2?

You ordered items and the courier walked to you along a path where the enemy stood. The items were not lost, but you got them a minute later, and the enemy may have got gold for the courier too.

How does the coach find this mistake?

The coach looks at every death of your courier and the value it carried. From 500 gold it is a mistake; branches, tangoes and other cheap items do not count. The two most expensive losses per match go into the review.

Why does “courier lost with items” cost games?

A delayed key item changes the fight: you walk in without the BKB or Blink your team counted on. A minute of waiting in the midgame costs far more than the courier.
